In the present days credit cards are used frequently by everyone for shopping, partying and payments etc. These cards have play a key role in our lives as this is the best way for payments. As many of them doesn’t like t carry money with them so the choose carrying a simple card in their pockets. This is okay up to a certain extent if you have some cash in advance.
But many of them fail to pay back the amounts of the credit card, as a result the burden would increase on the individual as well as the credit ratings would fall down. So may of them have chosen Individual Voluntary Agreement to solve their debt problems?
When you are in huge debts of your credit card, the creditors issue a notice to the individual and prevent them from taking further credit. The notice states that the individual has violated the repayment agreement from the creditor. Also a complaint will be registered on the individual credit file which would be visible to everyone. As a result if often gets impossible for the individual to access other loan.
The creditor doesn’t care while issuing notice that whether the individual has chosen bankruptcy, debt management plan or Individual Voluntary Arrangement. The only thing that matters for the creditor is the debt, as a result the credit card ratings will be spoiled and the individual finds difficult to obtain loan from other sources.
For credit card holders Individual Voluntary Agreement is a legal agreement with the creditors. The personal debts are being settled by monthly payments and the maximum period for these payments is about five years. After the completion of five years the debt is cleared off.
The Individual Voluntary Arrangement process enables you to write a certain amount of your debt. The major disadvantage is that your credit card ratings are affected. Also the record of this statement is marked on your credit file. As a result you would be unable to attain unsecured debts such as personal loans.
The important fact that credit card ratings are being damaged is that many of them go for Individual Voluntary Arrangement. However this can be managed if people choose debt management solutions as alternate. Sometimes these debt management solutions also show a similar effect, where the creditor registers a complaint against you as a result the ratings would fall again. The effects are similar in the debt management plans; as a result you may not avail unsecured debts for personal loans etc.
The Individual Voluntary Agreement on your credit card lasts for six years from the date you have begun. After the completion of six years the ratings would be cleared. Ratings in a debt management plans last for ten or more years. So, it is up to the individual to choose the right plan.
