Author is a research and has conducted research on the volunteers in Ghana. These volunteers abroad in Ghana have carried out tremendous changes in the life of the Ghanaian people. A lot people are employed today because of education provided to them by all these volunteers.
Ghana is an African country which is rich in natural inheritance. Different types of flora and fauna are found in this western region of Africa. Half of the Ghana region is full of dense forests while half is of small grass. Ghana also has costal region. People living in this region are known as Ghanaians. In olden days, these peoples used to be slaves. They were used for slavery.
But now they have a free life. In spite of having free life, people here face poverty and unemployment. This is caused due to illiteracy. Fifty percent of the Ghanaian people are unemployed. Similarly these are very poor people. They earn so less money every day that they can’t even complete the primary needs of their family. People in Ghana don’t have proper houses to live in nor do they have proper cloths to wear. In such a place like Africa where there are extreme climatic conditions, Ghanaian people live life like the nomads.
To overcome all this, non government organizations are undertaking many projects where a team of volunteers is sent to Ghana to help the Ghanaian people with all sort of help. This help is done in terms of all possible ways. Volunteers come from different parts of the world. They help in developing a poor country like Ghana. Volunteers help the people to build up proper houses. Orphanages are also being built up for all the children who are homeless and are orphans. These kids are provided with facilities such as proper education, clean clothes to wear and proper food.
Certain amount of financial help is also provided by these volunteers and non government organizations.Ghanaian people have their main occupations hunting, fishing and farming. In order to fill their aching stomachs these people hunt animals and eat their meat. Similarly for other household stuffs, trees are cut down and used for preparing different wooden equipments and for cooking purpose. Volunteers tell the Ghanaian the importance of natural habitat and save the flora and fauna. Ghana is also one of the biggest tourist attractions.
Volunteers also help tourists from destroying the flora and fauna in this region. Different medical facilities are provided to the people living in Ghana region. Because of untidiness there are a lot of epidemics that spread across the country. Proper vaccination and medication is given to these people who are ill.
There are many different medical volunteers who help Ghanaian people to overcome disease and carry on regular check up. Hospitals and clinics are built up by the non government organizations so as to provide best possible medical help to all these people. Volunteers are trying to develop Ghana into a developing region like all other countries.
